I feel a bit cliche

November 27, 2008

It’s the night before Thanksgiving, and while society seems to scream GO OUT TO Asatc_wine2 CROWDED BAR AND SEE PEOPLE YOU DON’T LIKE WHILE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR DRINKS…I’ve kind of shunned the idea.   I love a good drink, I love going out every now and again…but on this eve of Thanksgiving I’d rather be plopped on my couch laying low.   Sadly an impending snowstorm took my couch dwelling buddy off to his homeland…but the solo couch dwelling does have it’s positives.   I’ve caught up on my old episodes of the West Wing on Bravo (I missed the show during it’s original run)  and now I’ve got Sex and the City on and a glass of wine close on hand.   Wouldn’t it be fabulous if someone just killed two birds with one stone and made a Sex and the City wine?   I would SO buy a Sex and the City wine…you could even make different varities for each character:  Carrie Champagne, Miranda Merlot, Samantha Sancerre, Charlotte Chablis…ohhhh the possibilities!!!

Oh dear, now I’ve wandered into a dangerous land, the glass of wine has been paired with Sex and the City the Movie….damn.   I love watching the opening credits, ahhhh it is such a beautiful thing, at least from a producer/editor/whatever it is I do with video person’s standpoint.   I know a lot of people…ok a lot of Sex and the City fans were a little let down by the movie but I adore it.  The only thing I dislike is the fact that Samantha moved to Hollywood.   Not only does that go against the independent nature of her character (to essentially move for a man) but it goes against her love for the city!   But I digress…it’s a lovely little movie to enjoy!

I’ll keep on dreaming about the creation of the Sex and the City wine while I enjoy the movie.  Happy Thanksgiving Eve!!

Curious

November 21, 2008

crystallight-qo1It’s all about simplicity these days.  I’ll admit I became fascinated and than addicted to Crystal Light On the Go single packs…they give a little kick to my water regimen and they’re relatively harmless in the scheme of things….and really could it be any easier?  Dump it a packet into a bottle of water and give it a shake, in less then 30 seconds I’m sipping on a great little drink (Raspberry Lemonade is my definite fave).

In my quest for simplicity, and reducing cost, I found myself in the coffee aisle of the supermarket the other night.  I’m a coffee addict, and I buy it every morning from a Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks but in this economic pkg_regstickpackturmoil costs needs to be slashed so I went to go pick up a container of my coffee standby Taster’s Choice.   Yes it’s instant…but I love it.   Maybe everyone else had the same idea because there wasn’t a SINGLE container of Taster’s Choice BUT something new….instant instant coffee in single containers.   I can’t wait until tomorrow to try it out.  Here’s hoping I own’t spit it out as it was only 99 cents!

I had another great workout today…I’m kind of bummed about Thanksgivin next week because i know I have absolutely no restraint when it comes to that beautiful table full of turkey and fixings..but I’ll certainly give it my best try.

Off to research flights to Florida, specifically flights to Tampa…Superbowl weekend….this should get interesting.

my abs hurt..

November 14, 2008

…and it feels so good.  In all honesty there is no greater feeling than abs that ache the day after a good workout….thank you pilates!  I wish I could say that I am the epitome of fitness, but sadly it’s simply a week where I’ve decided to become active again.   I have issues, to say the least, with working out and fitness in general.  I’m certainly not making myself any promises with this latest burst of activity…but I’ll smile everytime I shift and feel the pain in my abs.

This has to be at least the tenth blog I’ve started.  I was a faithful myspace blogger, but as I’m slowly retreating from the land of me space, so too is my blogging on the space.  Does anyone ready my blogs?  No, not really.  Does anyone care what I have to say?  No, not really.   Would it be cool if I had a faithful following?  Absolutely, but even I am not jaded enough to buy into that.   I don’t know why I like to “blog” (I seriously hate that word) but I find it calming, and that suits me just fine.

I made a seriously dreadful dinner tonight.  I am blessed with a loving man who is more than happy to cook amazing meals for me, but I know deep down inside he wishes I was a redheaded Racheal Ray.  I decided to attempt a yummy meal, and it turned out to be several plates of tough bland ick.  I’ll let him stick to cooking for now and I’ll simply taste.

Alright, it’s Reiki time….there is no other way to drift off to sleep…I’ll save my Reiki|Energy Healing|Relaxation obsession for another time.
