if i had a million dollars – world’s most expensive dress

If you’ve already found the perfect little black dress it’s time to upgrade to the world’s most expensive dress…if you’ve got about $5 million laying around.

The dress, created by Debbie Wingham, weighs almost 30 pounds and has 25 two carat black diamonds on the dress, diamonds along the shoulder line and further down the skirt and then another set of 25 two carat black diamonds on the shrug!  Oh it’s also sewn with gold thread.  I’d imagine you’d need an army of bodyguards to head to cocktail hour in this dress.

I could see Mamatoga sporting something fabulous like this.

You can learn more about the black diamond dress at the designer’s website, you know in case you need a million dollar dress for your next big event 🙂 .   If you do end up finding a place to wear the black diamond dress, don’t forget to pair it with the black diamond nail polish.  You’ll have $5 million on your body and $250k on your hands.  No need to accessorize!

“fashion” at a hallween store

I’m using the term fashion pretty loosely here.   The kid wanted to check out one of those pop up Halloween stores over the weekend so we went to Halloween Spirit.  While he went off to check out zombie masks and pirate stuff I wandered through to drink it alllll in, and made a few unique finds.

1.  Shoes

These aren’t Manolos, but some of the larger Halloween stores have a pretty unique selection of shoes.   If you’re looking for a one of a kind pair (navy boots with gold trim) they may have what you’re looking for.

2.  Jewelry

Because Target doesn’t carry Peg Bundy gauged pearls, the Halloween stores cater to just about every look you could possibly imagine.  From dominatrix to 50’s housewife.

3.  Angry Birds attire

In case anyone has a burning desire to sport their favorite time killing app, just an FYI.

4. Superman Socks with capes

Need I say more?  SUPERMAN KNEESOCKS WITH CAPES…adorable (especially for runners.)   They also had batman kneesocks with capes.

5.  Legwarmers

Yes, it’s part of a sexy monster costume, but if you’ve been looking to complete some sort of updated Flashdancer look I’ve found your legwarmers.   They do look cozy.

6.  Sunglasses

Because your sunglasses aren’t badass enough without a ‘stache.

So there you have it.  A little taste of fashion from the Halloween store.   Of course there’s TONS of awesome Halloween stuff.  I’ll admit this costume made me pause:

Sexy Chucky?  Really?    Made me laugh, and I got totally sucked in by their displays:

Ghost Girl Display (complete with dead flamingo)

Exorcist Display

Happy ridiculously early Halloween!

sparkle shirt

Can I be honest ?   The reason I haven’t posted all week is because of this:

I am officially Downton Abbey obsessed.   I heard so many friends rave about it over the last few years but had no idea what they were referring to.  I noticed Season 1 of Downton Abbey on Netflix and decided to watch a little bit of the first episode on Sunday night.   Next thing you know I’ve blown through Season 1, purchased Season 2 on iTunes and have been skimming through it to see what happens.   I’m hooked.

Onto sparkles!

Summertime for radio peeps is busy.  We’re out and about all the time and always try to wear station gear (gotta get that brand out.)   Anyway after 14 years of wearing pretty uniform t-shirts, I decided to add some sparkle into my summer gear.   While I love sparkling things, when it comes to clothing I don’t trust myself so I found a great website called Custom Couture.    Easiest thing ever and not as expensive as I thought it’d be.

Just go to the design room to create your own shirt.   Select the type of shirt, color, and get going:

You can add tons of sparkle, a little sparkle.  Images, text, really anything you can dream up.   Once completed shipping takes about a week.  I made 2 t-shirts.

This one (manfriend didn’t fold it after it was washed and it needs to be ironed, eek)

And this one:

The t-shirts are good quality, although I wish I gone a little smaller on the black shirt.   All in all it was a fun way to get my sparkle on.  I believe I spent about $25 on each shirt, a little more on the black one because there’s a lot of sparkle.   Yes, it’s more than I would normally spend on a shirt, but I’ll be wearing these shirts weekly, if not more, throughout the summer.
